
Bill Nebeker has been named one of the 2009 Arizona Culturekeepers Honorees. Arizona Culturekeepers is a program designed to celebrate Arizonans who have made a positive impact on the Grand Canyon State’s history, culture, environment and/or economy. They are pioneers of the state because of their entrepreneurial spirit, civic leadership and outstanding contributions. The Arizona Culturekeepers is done in conjunction with the Arizona Historical Society and The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.
Nebeker was selected for this honor for his authentic portrayal of Arizona history through his sculpture. Nebeker and nine members of Troop A of the Rough Riders were honored at the Arizona Culturekeepers Induction Luncheon at Kierland Resort in Scottsdale on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009.
