Artist Pedro Ramos was honored with the Cowboy Artists of America Founders’ Award at The Phippen Museum Western Art Show and Sale on May 23, 2009. CAA 2009 President John Coleman presented Ramos with the award and a check for $1,000 at the Phippen Museum ’s Denim to Diamonds Awards Ceremony and Gala.

The annual CAA Founders’ Award is given to an artist at the Phippen show who exemplifies the quality of work and spirit of the west of the CAA founders. George Phippen, for whom the museum is named, was a founding member of the CAA and its first president.
