"I’ve loved open spaces, ranching and the western adventure my entire life. When I was a boy, my Uncle Jim owned a ranch in northern California that was the other side of the world from the concrete and smog of L.A. where I grew up. Roy Rogers, the Lone Ranger, Rawhide and Bonanza instilled my early love for western life and the drama of the men and women who survived to create it. But vacations at Uncle Jim’s ranch planted the seed of desire in me that would draw me to the Southwest where I could paint the historic frontier and the disappearing lifestyle of the working cowboy.”

Ron moved to Arizona in 1979, being inspired by the clean air, brilliant light, colorful cultures and old-fashioned western traditions. It was there he met his wife Natalie, whose gifts and talents partnered together with his to create a new wonderful shared vision.

With heartfelt thanks to a long list of artists for their inspiration, Ron is a student of art history. His blend of realism and colorism through traditional classical painting techniques finds fulfillment in the diverse subject matter of the great American West.

“I am honored to be accepted into this legendary artistic family of CA. I liken becoming a member to joining up with the finest ranch outfit west of the Mississippi. I’m the new tenderfoot with a whole lot of learning to do, and I’m proud to be ridin’ for the brand. It’s all about testing one’s metal, seeing how the new guy fits in and building the strength of the CA family bond. Every day I thank God for the privilege of being an artist.”
