CAA member Oreland Joe will be at the 52nd Annual Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market in Phoenix, Ariz., on March 6-7, 2010. Joe will display and sell his sculpture, as well as the sterling silver jewelry he makes using the traditional tufa stone method.

The art of several Active and Emeritus CAA members will be available at “Western Classics” at Trailside Galleries in Scottsdale, Ariz., from March 15-28, 2010. This show features all-new traditional western paintings and sculpture by more than 30 of the leading western representational artists in the country. An artists' reception is scheduled for Thursday, March 25th from 7 to 9 p.m. at the gallery.

As part of its new Mentoring Program, Cowboy Artists of America will take over Scottsdale Artists School in April 2010, when some members of the group hold a week of mentoring classes for up-and-coming western artists.

CA John Coleman will be featured in the Rendezvous Artists’ Retrospective Exhibition and Art Sale with artist Carrie Ballantyne at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Okla., on April 16, 2010. Coleman also will give a talk that day at 10:30 a.m., sharing the stories and inspiration behind his sculptures.

CAA member Bill Owen was selected as one of only two contemporary artists invited to have their art on display in The Horse. This long-running, traveling exhibition opened at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City and will exhibit in four other locations: The Field Museum in Chicago; the Abu Dhabi Cultural Center, United Arab Emirates; the San Diego Natural History Museum; and the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau. The Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, Texas, loaned Bill Owen’s 1973 piece, No Place for a Gunsel, to this exhibition from their permanent collection.
Update: Due to the popularity of The Horse, locations have been added and the exhibition will now run through 2013:
