The Ray Swanson Memorial Award was added at the request of the Swanson Family with full CAA member support, to honor longtime CAA member, Ray Swanson, who passed away in 2004. The award is an artifact from Ray's personal collection. The award is given for a work of art that best communicates a moment in time and captures the emotion of that moment.
In 2008, there was a tie for the Ray Swanson Award, and both Martin Grelle and Herb Mignery were honored with the award.
